openSuSE bootsplash, theme change

Here you can find instructions how to change openSuSE's bootsplash screen.

Bootsplash is the picture during the system boot process.

openSuSE 11.4, default bootsplash

Themes are stored under /etc/bootsplash/themes/, actual theme is openSUSE.
You can get new themes at  kde-look.org , download your theme files and extract them into /etc/bootsplash/themes/. Afterwards open the file /etc/sysconfig/bootsplash and change the line THEME="openSUSE" to match your current theme, which you've extracted into the theme directory.
Finally apply the theme by running command mkinitrd as root.

Note that changing the bootsplash screen will also affect the TTY1 background.

It can be found at kde-look.org
